One of the few cafes in Tokyo with free Wi-Fi, Café Pause is a very able café.Though the crema on the espresso was a tad blond for my taste, the beans were ground to order and the taste was sweet. The food menu is lacking, however.

Explaining Tokyo Espresso Rankings
A (Poor Espresso): Use of pods or super-automatic machines, total disregard or lack of understanding of technique or connoisseurship, not grinding beans fresh for each shot, etc. AA (Fair Espresso): Technique is there but something is amiss such as use of old beans, not flushing before pulling a shot, use of super-automatic machines, inconsistent barista training, etc. AAA (Good Espresso): Good espresso but, somehow, devotion, passion, consistency, etc., are not at the top level yet and the pour suffers as a result. AAAA (Excellent Espresso): This is reserved for those cafes and baristas operating at an extremely high level. The passion for serving the best cup is evident in each shot as aroma, crema, body, brightness and overall flavor all meld into one memorable espresso experience. AAAAA (Superior Espresso): Transcendent espresso. Period.
